Drawpile 2.2.0 is out now! You can download it here. If you're updating from an earlier version, simply install the new one over it.

This is a final release and is ready for use right now. We're still updating the documentation, Docker and Flatpak, as well as waiting for Microsoft to process our submission of the program to them in the hopes that it will prevent SmartScreen warnings and other such annoyances. Users of Drawpile 2.1 won't be prompted to update automatically just yet while that's still going on. Once that's all done, there'll be another news post with all the stuff you missed if you haven't been using the 2.2 betas.

You can always download it manually though if you want to get your hands on the new stuff! This new version is compatible with sessions hosted by 2.1, so you can still draw with everyone that's on the old version. The server is also compatible, so server owners don't need to update immediately either.

Development of course doesn't stop here. If you find a bug, have a suggestion or otherwise need help, take a look at the help page on how to get in contact.

In particular, there's a web browser version of Drawpile being worked on, which is already functional and in testing. You can read more about that below.

Changes in this Release

This release represents about a month of development since Drawpile 2.2.0-beta.11. Other than one small server feature, it's just been bugfixes since then.

Drawpile 2.2 beta 11 is out, download it here!

This version fixes all relevant bugs that were reported. Unless new major bugs are found, this state will become the final release of 2.2.0.

If you still have issues to report, do so now! Take a look at the help page for links to the (new!) web chat, Discord and GitHub.

Translations can also still be updated and added, you can do so over at Weblate.

This is a hotfix for beta 9. It would lock up on startup in some cases.

This version is a release candidate. That means no new features are expected to be added to it until the final release, but bugfixes and translations may.

This release represents about a month and a half of development. Among many other things, support for PSD files has been added, the animation tools have received some more improvements and the sound effects have been changed to something less terrifying. The server side has also been upgraded with a variety of features to improve hosting long-term sessions, make moderation easier and hopefully reduce confusion around the login process.

Update: The Android version wasn't working yesterday. That's been fixed now! Thanks to Tetriser for reporting it.

Changes in this Release

This release represents about a month of development. The server and the command-line tools have been updated now, which means that hosting on your computer is available again. Also, Drawpile now works on Android phones, rather than just tablets. And of course there's been many smaller features and fixes along the way.
